ACA Marketplace Open Enrollment Is Coming: Important 2027 Dates to Know

If you get your health insurance through the ACA Health Insurance Marketplace, an important time of year is approaching.

For 2027 coverage through HealthCare.gov, Open Enrollment begins November 1, 2026 and runs through December 15, 2026.

Knowing these dates ahead of time can help you prepare and avoid waiting until the last minute.

📅 Important Dates for 2027 Coverage

November 1, 2026 — Open Enrollment Begins

This is the first day of the annual Open Enrollment Period for 2027 Marketplace coverage through HealthCare.gov.

December 15, 2026 — Open Enrollment Ends

For states using the federal HealthCare.gov platform, December 15 is the deadline to enroll in or change a Marketplace plan during regular Open Enrollment for 2027.

Coverage selected during this Open Enrollment Period is scheduled to begin January 1, 2027.

If your state operates its own Marketplace, its enrollment deadline may be different.

Why Should You Prepare Early?

Even if you already have Marketplace health insurance, it's a good idea to review your information each year.

Your household, expected income, healthcare needs, available plans, premiums, provider networks, prescription coverage, and potential financial assistance can change.

Before Open Enrollment, consider gathering updated information about:
